As a specialist in preservation treatment, ICPF masters impregnation processes that strengthen wood resistance against biological attack, moisture and outdoor exposure conditions. Each treatment is adapted to the wood species, the final use and the required use class.

Copper-based oil treatment

The copper-based oil treatment is a new-generation treatment designed to offer a more durable and environmentally respectful alternative. Its innovative formulation provides long-term protection against biological attack while reducing environmental impact.

Wood use classes
The use class defines the level of exposure of the wood to moisture and biological agents. It makes it possible to adapt the treatment to the product’s future use.
Class III
Wood exposed to weather without direct ground contact.
Class IV
Wood in direct ground contact, subject to permanent moisture.
The Bethell process
The Bethell process, used for autoclave treatment, is based on a full vacuum-pressure-vacuum cycle that enables deep injection of a preservation product.
The wood is introduced into the autoclave. A vacuum extracts the air from the autoclave. The preservation product fills the autoclave. The autoclave is pressurised, forcing the product into the wood. The surplus product is returned to the reservoir for the next cycle. A final vacuum is applied to remove any excess solution. The wood is treated.
